First we tell you about Brigu Lake (Brighu Lake).

Brighu Lake:

Brighu Lake is a pristine lake near Manali, Which is situated in Pir Panjal range in Kullu district. It is said that a long time ago Brighu Rishi did meditation here.

According to Wikipedia:

Brighu Lake or Brighu Lake is a lake located at an elevation of around 4,300 metres (14,100 ft) in Kullu district, Himachal Pradesh, India. It is located at the East of Rohtang Pass and is around 6 km from Gulaba Village. Legend has it that the sage used to meditate nears the lake and hence it has been rendered sacred; the locals believe that due to this the lake never freezes completely. This lake is held sacred to the sage, Rishi Brighu a great saint of Indian history.

 

Brighu Lake or Bhrigu Lake Trek:

Brighu Lake trek is situated in Manali, Himachal Pradesh which starts from Gulaba Village. It is on the way to Rohtang Pass- A famous Pass in Manali. This trek is famous for its grasslands and the mesmerizing views in between trek. This trek will be best completed in 3 days time, where you can have ample time to relax at campsite and enjoy every bit of the trek. Trekkers have to cover approx 25 km distance and the highest altitude gain at Brighu Lake is 14000ft.

This trek can be opted by a newbie trekker or an experienced trekker. It is a Moderate trek due to its height and the altitude gain. Due to the rich line of oak and cedar forests, fascinating green lush meadows, enthralling carpeted alpine flooring or the gushing streams along the meandering trails, the scenic vistas of the region is absolutely captivating which also makes the trekking experience overwhelming.

Best Season to visit Brighu Lake:

This trek will start from Mid May till the month of October and trekking to Brighu Lake can be done by trekkers. Best time to do Brighu Lake trek is before the month of June and after August, as this time is considered as Monsoon season in Himachal Pradesh. You can do this trek in Sep to Mid Oct, in the span of this time Brighu Lake weather is clear and the sky will be blue all the day.

Temperature in Brighu Lake Trek:

Brighu Lake Trek temperature in summers is range between 20 to 25 degree in day time, and the temperature will fall between 2 to 5 degrees at night time. Almost half the year Brighu Lake remains frozen, due to its high altitude trekkers can enjoy snow till month of June.

Altitude: Rola Kholi (12500ft).

Meals: Lunch and Dinner.

Mode of Journey: 22km by Vehicle and 7km by foot.

Brighu Lake trek day 1 starts with a meet and greet. You have to report to Trek Leader by 8:00 am at Manali Mall Road. You will brief by our trek leader regarding Brighu Lake treks. So you will know what to expect on trek days.

After briefing season we move to Gulaba by vehicle it will take 2 hours to reach there. We trek from there to Rola Kholi; the time is taken to reach there are 5 to 6 hours.

Starting 3 hour of the trek is a steep climb to Rola Kholi campsite. The trail passes through beautiful forest with the view of seven sisters Peak and Hanuman Tibba. Fill your water bottle at camp, as you won’t find any water source in between till you about to reach near Rola Kholi, a water stream will be there to fill bottles but it’s before 20 mins of Rola Kholi campsite.

After treks for around 5 hours, you will reach the campsite. Hot lunch is served then tea time. Dinner will be served by 8:00 pm. End the Trek day 1 of Brighu Lake Trek completes with some stories.

We start our trek early, breakfast is served by 6:30 am, and we leave for Brighu Lake by 7:00 am. Climb is steep till Brighu Lake. Trail is rocky and you will found snow near the lake if you are doing this trek in the months of May or June. Whole day you are trek along with the Brighu Lake stream. Pack lunch on the way and the trek complete by 5:00 pm. Tea is served with some evening snacks. Yummy Dinner is waiting for you, which s served by 8:00 pm.

Day 2 of the Brigu Lake trek will be finish with some excitement and satisfaction of the trek.

Altitude: Gulaba (10300ft).

Meals: Breakfast

Mode of Journey: 22 km by vehicle and 4 km by foot.

Accommodation: Not included.

Day 3 of the trek starts with some chill session, breakfast is served by 8:00 am. Trek is pretty easy today and the most of the time we are trekking downhill. It will take 3 to 4 hours to reach Gulaba. Here our vehicle is waiting for us; we reach Manali by 1:00 pm.
