Brief Description

The Hampta Pass Trek is one of the most breathtaking treks in Himachal Pradesh’s Kullu region. Hampta Pass provides spectacular views of both the Himalayan sides. The lush Kullu valley lies on one side, while the desert valley of Lahaul is on the opposite side. The trek to the high altitude Chandratal lake is one of the highlights. 

This trek is moderately complex and can be enjoyed by both novice and experienced trekkers. Hampta Pass trek reaches 4200m elevation and the total distance covered is 35km. The famous Rohtang Pass is the destination for the return drive. This trek has many other attractions. The best time to visit Hampta Pass Trek is between June and October.

Itinerary

Meet and Greet with group by 8:00am Near SBI ATM Mall Road Manali, you will get the short briefing about The Hampta Pass Trek and meeting with Guides and Trek Leader. After meeting with your group we will board Taxi to Hampta Dam. Your Lifetime Adventure is about to begin here from Hampta Dam. We will get the narrow trail that will leads to forest of pine trees. The Variety of maple trees, deodar and toss trees welcome you. The sight is very scenic and soothing. The trail is very easy for the day one and you will enjoy nature. After trekking 20 mins on the trail and the view now open up. Cross the Rani Nallah by wooden bridge now you are walking right side of the bridge. Here you reached your first Campsite Name Chika. Waooo Huge, Flat and beautiful Chika Campsite, here your day ends with fun.

Here you will start your day with some Yoga session, Our Trek Leader will guide you with the yoga posses that will help your body and mind to start your second day. Second day is pretty thrilling with couple of water crossing on the way. You are trekking right side of the trail all day. The initial climb starts with boulder, walking with Rani River into a valley dotted with flowers. The Green trails now turns to brown as we reached Balu ka Gera campsite. This is the point where steep climb of Hampta Pass begins. Here you will feel cold and it is coldest campsite of the trek. Here your tent is pitched at 11000ft.

Today we start our day early to get some time advantage as this pass is very nasty and weather is very unpredictable. Today we climbed steep sections till Hampta Pass. Walk with steady pace with some energetic breaks. After crossing the Pass you entered in Lahaul region and the scenery is completely change. The Trail is downhill after crossing Hampta Pass, Its steep and hard to identify so keep in touch with your guides or trek mates. After descending for some time you will see Campsite Sheagoru. Now the most of the trail is flat. This campsite is colder then Balu ka Gera so ready for Chill Night.

Today we will start the day early, after crossing the river which is flowing near campsite. Crossing this river is a life time experience. Now half of the trek is easy and you will only decend. After final decend you see your Final Campsite Chhatru. From Chhatru board taxi to famous Chandratal Lake (If weather permits) , You will reach chandratal by late afternoon. After spending some precious time here return back to Chharu and camp here for night.

Please note if the Chandratal road is closed due to Landslide or bad weather then chandratal drive will not be done.

We board taxi early to reach Manali with life time experience and memorable journey. You will reach Manali by 4:00pm and here your Hampta Pass trek completes.
